Why did you get into the industry?
I always loved the arts and entertaining. The ability to express different emotions in order to make others have a certain type of feeling is very satisfying to me. I guess either to be relate-able to those who see my work or to share a state of mind that others are unfamiliar with in a way that exposes people to new thoughts, feeling, and emotions. Plus, it's just plain old fun! Being on set, I get to meet so many great people, establish so many wonderful relationships, and act!
What do you love about the business? What would you change?
The business is VERY challenging, but I think that's what attracts me to it. If you've had any success or even the littlest success it is a feat in itself. Accomplishments are hard but when you finally obtain it you can be proud of all of the hard work you put in to get yourself to that position, because, as we all know, not everyone has much success in this business. It's a constant struggle, constant grind, and constant determination is what chooses who succeeds and who doesn't.
What would I change? Hmm...I guess using a stepping stool instead of a 12' ladder to get to the top? Oh, and Starbucks on every set, that would be good. Tall soy vanilla latte for me please!
How do you stay positive?
I keep my eyes on the prize. I know what I want to do, I know where I want to go, I know what I want to be. That's what keeps me staying positive. I don't want to look back on my life and regret not accomplishing my dream--that's a waste of time and that's what keeps me moving forward after each rejection. Booking a job helps too--it shows I can accomplish my dream and makes me hungry for more and more. I'm constantly hungry and I'm licking my lips for that filet mignon with garlic mashed potatoes and a side of asparagus...with a warm fudge brownie sundae for dessert.
What's been your favorite shoot?
That's a tough question. I honestly enjoy every shoot that I'm on. I have such a passion for what I do, I enjoy every minute of every opportunity that I get. So i guess more simply put: My favorite shoot is the one yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
