Why did you get into the industry?
It was inevitable. When I was a kid, if you sat still long enough, I was sure to sing/dance/act or puppet show at you. Or worse, I'd make you sit through one of my radio plays, complete with sound effects and background music.
What do you love about the business?
Whether it's Tennessee Williams on a stage or a photo shoot for Carvel Ice Cream, you are telling a story and playing pretend. That's what I love. Putting myself in someone else's shoes for a bit.
How do you stay positive?
I've been through plenty of dry spells, but eventually I'll book something and things turn around. It also helps to remember that I have very little control over getting cast or not-- I could book a job because I look like the client's old high school girlfriend...or I could NOT book the job because I look like the client's old high school girlfriend. I come prepared and focussed for each audition, do my best, and then try to let it go when I walk out the door.
What's been your favorite shoot?
The DigDropDone campaign shoot was a lot of fun, but high-pressure, too, since it was all shot on a single day. Seeing myself in a full-page ad in REAL SIMPLE magazine was exciting (and my mother was thrilled!).
How can TalentSoup best serve talent like you?
With a spoon, and sprinkles on top! Just keep putting me out there and providing opportunities.
