Why did you get into the industry?

I lost 44 pounds in 2010 and landed the cover of a major magazine & was featured in their "how weight loss changed my life" article. After that amazing experience in NYC I decided to have some head shots taken and submit them to a few local agencies-just to see if there was any interest. I was signed by a modeling agency here in Atlanta and I stumbled upon Talent Soup just a few short weeks later. I created my TalentSoup Webcomp Portfolio and the rest is history!

What do you love about the business? What would you change?

I love that models come in all shapes, colors, and ages! Just take a look at some recent advertisements and you'll see the diversity. The possibilities for landing cool gigs are definitely there! TalentSoup does a great job with keeping things simple! Creating & editing my Webcomp is super easy and they even submit me for the jobs I have "the look" for. It just doesn't get any better than that! As far as what I would change...there's NOTHING I'd change about TalentSoup. In my opinion, they are the best, most professional and efficient agency. With TalentSoup-there's no schemes, wasting time/money, and "promising you a rose garden." It's a business. You book jobs and you "get passed" on jobs, too. That's life.

How do you stay positive?

A couple of times I've come close to booking some really BIG shoots, but in the end another model was selected. Of course it's discouraging at first, but I know it's business-nothing personal! Clients know exactly what their looking for and I respect that. I feel blessed to have booked the jobs I've been booked for.

What's been your favorite shoot?

I've done several really great shoots and met some awesome people. One of my favorite shoots was a lifestyle shoot for SunTrust Bank. It was fun & casual and everyone (talent and crew) were great to work with. People might not realize how much goes into a print shoot. I've worked on movie sets before and it's very similar to that with directors, production assistants, wardrobe, hairstylists, makeup artists, catering, etc. Every shoot is different and special. I thank God everyday for the amazing opportunities I have been blessed with.
