Why did you get into the industry?
I got into this industry almost 20 years ago. Wow! Time sure flies. I was super shy growing up, but I've always been the type of person to face my fears head on. Plunging into the modeling and acting business was the perfect way to bring me out of my shell. These days, I still feel a tinge of shyness, but I overcome it and always look forward to getting in front of the camera.
What do you love about the business? What would you change?
I just love how the phone can ring at any moment with a wonderful new opportunity. I also love the incredible people I get to meet and work with in this business.
If I could change one thing it would be to bring more efficiency to the audition process. I would love to be able to take current digitals or self tape myself at home and submit it through email rather than running all around town for the same purpose.
How do you stay positive?
I always do the best I can on every audition. After that, I've learned to just let go of the outcome. Worrying about why I didn't book a job creates bad energy and also invokes ego, which is in a constant state of competition and that can drive anybody crazy. I've learned some days it will be my time to shine and then other days it will be someone else's turn. I practice daily meditation, which helps ground me, helps keep me at peace and also in a state of gratitude for all the blessings I have in my life.
What's been your favorite shoot?
I really can't complain about any of my shoots. I mean, where else can you show up and get pampered with hair and makeup, trying on new outfits, and having a crew following you around wanting to take your picture. Not too shabby!
How can TalentSoup best serve talent like you?
